Garth

GSMDCA / ARBA Champion Barton Manor's Proper Attire

Garth was an exuberant, joyful dog who thought everyone was just waiting to meet him. Garth was a party dog through and through.  He bounced as much as he walked.

He loved to get hitched up to his cart and was a skilled draft dog.  He pulled his wagon in parades and carting demonstrations. He especially enjoyed giving children rides in the cart.

Garth was a GSMDCA & ARBA Champion and did quite well in the show ring once the breed was recognized by AKC in 1995. In September 1995 he was Reserve Winners Dog the day prior to the National Specialty. In October he won a very competitive Best of Breed from the Open Dog class. Sadly, his very promising show career was cut short by illness and he never attained his AKC championship.

Just a few months after his 3rd birthday, Garth developed degenerative spinal cord disease in the winter of 1995-96. Treatment options were very limited and Garth experienced only temporary improvement with a combination of medication and physical therapy.  He died at age 3-½.

Garth's life was much too short, but it was a life filled with love and happiness.  He was co-owned with the Nyland family.

Garth was never bred.
