Champion Beowulf's Kiss Me Twice
Agador was a happy, relaxed fellow who was an easy, enjoyable dog to live with.
Agador was bred by Carmelita White of Beowulf Swissies & Berners and was sired by my darling Bobby. When the litter was about 7-1/2 weeks old Carmelita called and said 'I think you need to take a look at this boy because one of needs to keep him and I don't keep boys. You don't have to take him if you don't want to, but you do need to see him'. Hmmm... I was already keeping Goldie from my Neo x Katie litter that was just a few days younger and I did not want to raise two puppies at once. Been there, done that and it's always more trouble than you'd expect. So I drove up to Gettysburg but was determined not to come home with this little boy puppy.
Well, as you can see, I agreed with Carmelita's assessment and Agador soon joined the household. But I was also right. Within the first few days he and Goldie were best friends and together managed to kill off my brand new laptop. Fun fact, the warranty doesn't cover puppies chewing through the power cord and frying the system. Oh well, it was new so very few files were lost, the puppies were perfectly fine and only my wallet took a serious hit.
Agador's registered name - 'Kiss Me Twice' is an homage to his mother Besame and comes from a big-band era song, 'It's Been a Long, Long Time' by Sammy Kahn, it is NOT from the sci-fi movie. His everyday name, Agador, is from the movie the Birdcage and is the name of Hank Azaria's woderful character.
Once he got through the gangly puppy stage and stopped looking like a stick-figure dog come to life, Agador finished his championship easily. His movement was effortless and you could easily picture his striding across an alpine field on a Swiss farm. He was also a delight to walk around with at dog shows after the actual showing part was over. Like his father Bobby, he never met a stranger and loved finding kids who would pet him and give him hugs.
Agador's libido was also like his father's and despite his size he could be extremely fast and agile if a girl in season was anywhere nearby. Anytime one of the girls was in season my normally easy-going boy was an annoying, whiney, pest, but he was also very, very accurate in knowing when to breed and saved me from many extra trips to the vet for multiple progesterone tests. If Agador said the girl was ready, they were and I often just did one test to make certain (and to have proof for vets who didn't know him).
Agador was a very cool dog and one who left his mark on the hearts of all who got to know him.
Agador died at age 8-1/2 from kidney failure.
